A la Russe
This set of patterns as a part of A la Russe FW 2013-2014 collection is dedicated to the Unicorn.
A mythical creature usually pictured as a white horse with a single long horn projecting from its forehead, the unicorn symbolises chastity. The legendary animal was impossible to catch, but would lay down obediently at the feet of a virgin.
While drawing inspiration from the Medieval tapestries depicting the hunt of the unicorn its subsequent capture and confinement, the collection shows a free unicorn, representing the untamed power of wild nature.
